Suilend, Sui’s leading lending protocol, is entering a new chapter @bluewaterHQ has acquired @suilendprotocol, including STEAMM and SpringSui. The important part? Suilend isn’t being absorbed, it will continue operating as an independent protocol with the same roadmap, and infrastructure. This simply gives one of @SuiNetwork’s biggest DeFi ecosystems more long-term backing to scale lending, liquid staking, and on-chain capital markets. Big move for Sui DeFi 🔥🔥

fastest blockchain in crypto but i am still counting how many apps on sui are actually putting money in regular people's pockets genuinely asking 🙂 $SUI the apps actually making people money in web3 right now hyperliquid — $694M daily volume, traders genuinely profiting kaito — paying creators and researchers for quality content and attention uniswap — billions in volume, LPs earning real fees aave — lend and earn real yield, no bank needed polymarket — prediction markets paying out real money ethena — $175M daily, people earning yield on stablecoins now here is what sui has bluefin — perp trading, decent but nowhere near hyperliquid volume scallop and suilend — real yield but APYs are low and TVL shrunk massively waterx — prediction markets just launched, too early to compare the infrastructure on sui is real the scale isn't there yet and there is no kaito equivalent on sui which might be the biggest gap nobody is talking about $SUI

"With centralization you just have to accept it happened. With decentralization, at least we'll know what they did in the background." Kostas Chalkias (@kostascrypto), former lead cryptographer on Facebook's Libra, on the thing most people get backwards about decentralization: "People think decentralization means chaos. It's the opposite. There's liability in decentralization — you can actually see who's doing what." "In a voting-based validator system, you see exactly what every validator is doing. You can check who they are, whether they secretly collaborate, whether they're the same entity behind multiple validators." "This is more transparent than proof of work. With mining, nobody really knows — you run on some grid, some power plant somewhere. You only find out later, by watching where the hardware moves." "If a government tries to do something, at least it's visible. You don't get that with anything that lives inside one single country." Translation: the usual pitch for decentralization is "no one can stop you." Kostas is making the inverse argument — the real value is that no one can hide. Power still exists in these systems, but it's auditable instead of invisible. Coming from someone who built cryptography inside Facebook, that's not a small claim about where trust actually comes from.

"As you realized, there was no money lost. And this is by design." Kostas Chalkias (@kostascrypto) is co-founder and Chief Cryptographer of Mysten Labs, the team behind Sui. When the network halted, he was in the war room. This is his breakdown of what actually happened. "The ideal option is to halt, compared to just losing money if something else happens." We cover: — Why halting the network was a deliberate design choice, not a failure — What was really going on behind the scenes while crypto Twitter panicked — The global war room: 50+ people across Europe and the US working through the night — Why a decentralized network recovers differently than one company flipping a switch — "Move fast and break things", why the Facebook motto is exactly wrong for money — Why Kostas believes most other blockchains wouldn't have recovered in days — Where the line sits between an honest edge case and a broken system — What the outage proved about how Sui is actually built Thanks to Kostas for coming on @new_era_financ

Sui network has strong auditability; halting the chain is a design feature, not a bug, and its outlook is positive.

AI agents are now coming to trading as well. But the question is: if an agent trades on your behalf, how do we ensure security? The Sui team developed a working prototype that uses Seal MPC for this. The authority is not inside the agent, but in a more secure layer. 🧵👇 https://t.co/HPPRoy4PJg

This structure works as a secure approval layer for AI agents. An agent can suggest trades, but the control remains with you. → You set the limits → The wallet stays self-custodial → The agent cannot access the private key In short: the agent operates, the authority stays with you.

So how are the rules protected? A one-time approval from Seal MPC is required for each payment. This approval is enforced by the Move rules on-chain. Thus a malicious agent cannot reuse the same permission to trade arbitrarily.

This structure was built with the Move 2024 package and React dapp-kit. In summary: AI agents can simplify tasks, but wallet control should remain with the user. Sui provides a great example for secure agentic web3 applications.

The prototype is currently live on the Sui Testnet. The team tested the system against three scenarios: Exceeding the budget Trading with an unauthorized seller Displaying the wrong transaction category The system catches these and reports error codes on-chain.

Are you holding $SUI? Let me give you the full picture, because it's bigger than most people realize. Start with the scale. Sui has moved over $1 trillion in stablecoin transfers since August 2025, including $111 billion in January alone. And it just made those transfers gasless. Zero fees, with Fireblocks supporting it at launch. The institutions are here too. Spot SUI ETFs from 21Shares, Canary, and Grayscale trade on US exchanges. Backers include Franklin Templeton, Circle, and a16z. Remi brought bank-issued, MiCA-compliant stablecoins onto Sui through Bison Bank, supervised by the European Central Bank. And the roadmap is loaded. Hashi, a Bitcoin-backed finance layer, launches its global testnet in July with Cumberland, BitGo, and FalconX. Walrus became the second-largest decentralized storage network. Confidential Transfers went into beta. Sui had real outages in late May, and I won't ignore that. But trillion-dollar stablecoin flow, bank integrations, BTC finance, and a team out of Meta's Diem project? That's serious building. The risk is real, but so is the foundation. You holding?

Mysten built the primitives but made Sui anticompetitive by disincentivizing talent from competing. Aftermath, Suilend, and Ika were the exceptions. One sunsetted, one acquired, the other migrated to Solana. @bluefinapp is the last man standing in an empty colosseum.

I think the problem is deeper than “Sui needs a killer app.” Sui needs structure, structure for builders, creators, communities, users etc. One of Solana’s biggest strengths isn’t just the technology or even the applications built on top of it. It’s the fact that they built systems that continue creating activity regardless of market conditions, they have @superteam which basically covers everything from regional communities to creator networks to hackathons, accelerators, founder support, distribution channels etc, it doesn’t matter if the market is up or down, there’s always something happening because there’s a framework that enables people to contribute and grow within the ecosystem and that’s why their ecosystem compounds. I think Sui’s challenge has never been technology. We have strong tech, talented builders, and a growing ecosystem. The bigger challenge is building the structures that turn those advantages into sustained growth. At the grassroots level, there are still gaps in how users become contributors, contributors become builders, and builders become long-term ecosystem advocates. What Solana built wasn’t just a collection of products, it built systems that continuously attract, retain, and empower people regardless of market conditions. The encouraging part is that Sui is beginning to move in that direction through initiatives focused on creators, community growth and ecosystem participation. The goal now is to make these efforts consistent, scalable, and interconnected so they become a flywheel that compounds over time.

Crazy to think Sui and Aptos had every opportunity to challenge Solana but neither could build an ecosystem strong enough to compete
