Even if Shoku launches a $UNIT token, there’s no way he’d use most of the revenue for buybacks.

Most crypto projects do that, but it’s actually counterproductive when you’re an early-stage company. Every dollar of cash flow should be reinvested into growth, especially in a market growing as fast as perpetual derivatives.

Sure, there could be discretionary buybacks if they think the token is undervalued, but using the majority of revenue for buybacks just doesn’t make sense.

$HYPE can afford to do it because it’s a network with thousands of builders on top of it. That’s a completely different business model. You can’t apply the same assumptions to $UNIT, especially with someone as smart as Shoku running it.

$UNIT will have value if there are meaningful rights attached to holders. End of story. Most investors don’t care about buybacks. They want the company they own a piece of to reinvest, grow as fast as possible, strengthen its moat, and execute at the highest level.

UNIT back up 5.5% to $0.82. Volume was $37. A few weeks ago it dropped 7.1% on $484. This move cost even less to make. Thin book cuts both ways.
