- SmartPay, a more recent addition to the product stack lets users pay gas fees directly in MASK for certain in-app actions, a functional tie between the token and actual usage rather than governance alone though the write up’s framing of token gated content understates how much of Mask’s current activity centers on payments and messaging specifically.
- Mask Network has participated as a strategic investor in ecosystem financings including a recent round for a DePIN communications project, a notable shift from being purely a product company to also deploying capital into adjacent Web3 infrastructure.
