Observing this chart, I notice that the majority of large liquidation orders are still concentrated on BTC and ETH. From my perspective, this shows that capital flows and leverage are still mainly centered around these two assets. When they experience strong volatility, the rest of the market is often hard to avoid being affected.
I do not regard liquidation data as a signal to predict trends, but I always view it as a way to understand traders' sentiment and risk tolerance at any given time.
This is just my personal viewpoint, not investment advice.
The interesting thing I see in the liquidation heatmap is that BTC still captures a large share of market attention.
From my perspective, when liquidation volume is overly concentrated on a single asset, it indicates that capital flows and leverage are still revolving around that asset. Altcoins may experience strong volatility, but the overall market sentiment still seems heavily dependent on BTC's movements.
I don't use this data alone to make decisions, but I always view it as a piece of the puzzle to understand how the market is evolving. This is just my personal viewpoint.
Bitcoin (BTC) is a digital asset and a payment system invented by Satoshi Nakamoto who published a related paper in 2008 and released it as open-source software in 2009. The system featured as peer-to-peer; users can transact directly without an intermediary. Transactions are verified by network nodes and recorded in a public distributed ledger called the blockchain. The ledger uses bitcoin as its unit of account. The system works without a central repository or single administrator, which has led the U.S. Treasury to categorize bitcoin as a decentralized virtual currency. Bitcoin is often called the first cryptocurrency, although prior systems existed. Bitcoin is more correctly described as the first decentralized digital currency. It is the largest of its kind in terms of total market value by now.
