KyberSwap x Base MCP - What is this?
On June 23, @KyberNetwork announced that KyberSwap is now live on Base MCP.
Base MCP is @base platform for AI agents. It allows AI assistants (Claude, custom agents, etc) to interact with onchain applications in a structured way.
By integrating with $BASE MCP, AI agents can now natively use KyberSwap to:
• Get the best swap routes
• Build ready-to-sign transactions
• Execute through the KyberSwap aggregator
▸ What is MCP?
MCP stands for Model Context Protocol: an open standard that lets AI models connect to external tools and data sources in a standardized way.
KyberSwap built its own MCP Server that exposes 13 tools for AI agents, including:
• Swap quoting & route building
• Transaction calldata generation
• Liquidity provision (Zap)
• Limit order creation
• Pool data & simulations
▸ Safety Feature
The KyberSwap MCP server is designed to be secure:
• Read-only + calldata building only
• Never holds private keys
• Never signs or broadcasts transactions
• The user (or agent) still has to approve/sign everything with their own wallet
▸ Why?
@KyberNetwork is positioning itself as AI-agent friendly infra. While others are still built for humans, Kyber team is building tools so that AI agents can use their advanced features.
This is part of their broader push into the AI + DeFi narrative.
