According to Ouest-France, the crypto influencer “CryptoGouv,” who disappeared in 2022, is suspected of promoting crypto investment opportunities to French investors through a Telegram community, requiring investors to transfer USDT, DAI, or BUSD into a “shared wallet,” and regularly posting screenshots of abnormal short‑term returns such as +20%, +50%, +100% to attract more funds. The report states that victims invested amounts ranging from €500 to €80,000, with some losing all their savings; after the crypto market downturn at the end of 2022, the Telegram channel gradually fell silent and was eventually deleted, and the funds in the related crypto addresses were emptied.

Ouest-France says that journalists, using open‑source investigation, victim testimonies, archived chat logs, voice recordings, and on‑chain address clues, have traced the leads to a primary suspect named Anthony Goujon. Victims have filed a collective complaint in France, and the case awaits further confirmation by police and judicial procedures.
