good coins, i dont think you can have one or the other btw, without memes in 2023 a lot of solana's onchain volumes wouldve been much lower & sol wouldnt have gotten attention as a valid fast, cheap, performant L1 to build on - which is what attracts businesses like cards/kled/avici/pumpcade

L1s can be accurately compared to cities, cities have all different types of businesses that bring revenue & residents to the town, for ex. Vegas has a lot of casinos that bring revenue to the city, they also have real businesses like banks, restaurants, hotels, etc etc, just because casinos exist does not mean that other business owners would not want to be entrepreneurs there, in fact it is actually more attractive for them because there are more existing patrons already there gambling that will spend their money on other things

so i think it all adds to the same pie & the attention is net positive, they are just a trojan horse for other things, @solana aims to be the chain where everyone wants to build products on be
