The smart minds in the room are remaining curious but understand grave dancing on an entire chain that has been building for years is ridiculous.
Sadly the low IQ bottom feeders, of which we have a lot of across crypto, only have the brain capacity to deal with one thing at a time. So they behave like lemmings, following whichever pumpy dumpy KOL they pay to be exit liquidity for, and don't consider the bigger picture.
This same thing happened with @virtuals_io end of 25, start of 26. Almost all the KOLs left. Fudded the ecosystem and chased better gains elsewhere. Now they are all crawling back. I suspect we'll see the same thing happen with @base when the cycle comes back around.

I have a lot of respect for Brian on one level, due to his efforts on legal clarity for crypto in the USA.
On the other hand i always had a suspicion that Base chain was basically something that they realized in hindsight wasnt actually good for their main business… the @coinbase app. Perhaps im wrong.
However, it would make sense that he kept it going and basically didnt do anything when he realized the people who are the face of @base are pretty incompetent. Im sure there are plenty of competent devs and some other folks, but they obviously have no say in anything.
I would also hedge a bet that theres been lots of insider extraction going on too which is unfortunate.

A lot of what's being called volume right now is AI generated spam tokens on Robinhood chain and Base.
Is it wash trading? Real transactions? The nuance is messy but this is real data.

I compare RobinHood Chain to Base more than to Solana.
It's another corpo chain that's been getting traction in a way similar to how Base got traction, but is operating like the sol casino due to degens top blasting 5-6 figs just to feel something after watching the market nuke down-only for 6+ months.
but the true test will be once RH hype DIES OUT, sits sideways for some time, and eventually see some true utility plays start being built AND memes reviving.
